Elvira Querol, clarinet

Elvira Querol was born in Ulldecona (Catalonia). She studied at Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) in Barcelona, where she got the bachelor degree in clarinet performance under professor Josep Fuster. Afterwards, she continued her studies at Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe (Germany) under professor Wolfgang Meyer.

She attended master classes and clarinet courses under the clarinettists Walter Boeykens, David Campbell, Yehuda Gilhad, Enrique Pérez Piquer and Wolfgang Meyer.
In the orchestra field, she is regularly invited by the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC) and by the Orquestra Nacional Clàssica d’Andorra (ONCA), as well as she has played in the Orquestra de Cambra de Granollers, Grup Instrumental Barcelona 216, Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, Orquestra de Cambra de Vila-seca and in the GIOrquestra.

She has played in some music festivals and concert seasons like Festival Internacional de Música de Sitges, Festival Internacional Narciso Yepes d’Ordino, Festival Mil·leni de Barcelona, Festival Jardins de Cap Roig, Festival Castell de Peralada, Festival Isaac Albéniz de Camprodon, Festival Pau Casals de Prades and Festival de la Porta Ferrada.

She won some prizes in different competitions, both as a soloist and as in the chamber music field, in the competitions of Sant Joan de Vila Torrada, Vila de Ponts and ‘Dones artistes’ of the Centre d’Estudis Pianístics de Barcelona.
She recorded for Catalunya Música, Televisió de Catalunya and for the Radio and Television of Andorra.

She has been guest professor in the 4th Stage d’Interpretació Musical Can Roig i Torres in Sta. Coloma de Gramenet, in the 4 th Curs d’Orquestra Camerata dels Pirineus and the 33rd and 39 th Curs Internacional de Música de Cervera.
Since 2007 she teaches at Conservatori Professional de Música Isaac Albéniz de la Diputació de Girona.
